Alessandra Badioli
Bio & Expertise: ALB Tutoring is the brainchild of founder, Alessandra L Badioli. Inspired by a collaboration with her academic mentor, Phyllis Nobile of Westport, CT, Alessandra opened the virtual doors to ALB in 2015, bringing her vision for custom tutoring, beyond the traditional, to fruition. Recognizing the limited impact of the standard tutoring landscape — especially for middle and high school students — she crafted a more continuous and personalized approach.
Drawing on her background in psychology, Alessandra sought to have tutors function more like therapists, with whom students meet on a regular basis and build a trusting relationship. These professionals become part of the student's support team, identify their learning style, and design a custom approach for overall success. Students apply strategies for enhanced learning, to embrace newfound autonomy, and to create and maintain change. Alessandra developed a holistic hybrid, where education meets psychology, empowering students to Always Learn Better™️**.**
As an educational therapist in-training, Alessandra is a multifaceted practitioner with boundless passion for executive functioning which motivates her and the ALB team to help students improve metacognition, task initiation, organization, time management, and planning. She also extends her expertise to the broader community through frequent workshops for parents, students, and educators, emphasizing the pivotal role of executive functioning for enhanced lifelong development. Her commitment to integrating innovative, evidence-based research lands her at the forefront of positive change in education.
Growing up between Manhattan, Connecticut, and Italy, Alessandra is a multilingual and multicultural citizen. She attended Convent of the Sacred Heart at both the 91st Street New York City locale and its Greenwich campus. She studied Economics and French at New York University and ultimately graduated from the University of Bologna in Bologna, Italy with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Alessandra later returned to New York to obtain a Master’s Degree in Psychology at The New School, during which time she conducted research at the prestigious Child Mind Institute in New York City on using technology to improve accessibility to mental health interventions. Currently, she is completing her certification in Educational Therapy through the University of California Riverside.
In addition to her passion for helping students learn better, Alessandra is a tennis, yoga, skiing, and needlepoint enthusiast. She also enjoys reading, cooking and hosting dinner parties, and traveling.
