An Education Collaborative

At TLNYC, we are an interdisciplinary community of education practitioners, connecting members with high quality professional development, workshops, networking opportunities, and small business support. We know that the most effective educators are lifelong learners and we provide the space for educators to continue to learn, grow, and connect.

Building Community

Tutoring can be very isolating , and, as independent contractors, we are stuck working in silos. However, TLNYC is rewriting the narrative by creating a community where tutors and other education practitioners can collaborate, network, learn, and grow. At TLNYC, you will feel a sense of belonging and support.

When we leave the classroom, we often leave behind opportunities to access professional learning. TLNYC hosts content-specific workshops and expert presentations, providing you the chance to learn from the best in the field and continue to grow as an educator.

Professional Learning

Mentorship and guidance are key ingredients to educator success. At TLNYC, you will meet professionals who have been in this work for a long time and are eager to share their valuable insights. We facilitate and encourage ongoing mentorship.

Access to Mentorship

Meet Our Founder: Jane Moskowitz

A native New Yorker, Jane was born and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and attended The Dalton School. After graduating from Duke University in 2012 with a degree in Psychology, she went on to get her master's at Bank Street in Literacy and Childhood General Education. As a classroom teacher at Stephen Gaynor School, she spent several years supporting students with language-based learning differences. In 2020, she decided to establish her own educational practice because she felt she could effect more meaningful change working one-on-one with students.

As Jane worked independently, she felt that something was missing: belonging to a community of educators. And so, Tutoring League of NYC was born!
