Alyssa Tucker
Bio & Expertise: Alyssa is a private tutor for students in elementary and middle school, specializing in teaching children with learning differences, focusing on individualizing instruction to meet each learner's unique needs. With expertise in special education and assessment, she develops tailored strategies to support academic growth, writing, executive functioning, and social-emotional development. Alyssa is certified in Orton-Gillingham, a proven multisensory approach to teaching reading, enabling her to help students master literacy skills with confidence.
Alyssa has over 10 years of teaching experience in NYC, including seven years at the Stephen Gaynor School, a leader in personalized education for students with learning differences. She holds a Master’s in Special and General Education from NYU.
Alyssa is the author of the book I Did My Homework in My Head and co-founder of Live From Snack Time, a viral brand with over 700k Instagram followers that celebrates kids’ wit and wisdom
Fun Fact: Alyssa is now a passionate advocate for infertility awareness. After facing infertility and loss for four years, she embarked on a remarkable journey, which included having a surrogate and then becoming pregnant herself. Her perseverance resulted in the joy of raising "twiblings" (twin siblings) born just six weeks apart.
