Lara Laurence

Bio & Expertise: Lara Laurence is a learning specialist with over 30 years of experience in independent schools.  She holds a Master's Degree in Learning Disabilities from Northwestern University and another Master's Degree in School Psychology from New York University.  She is trained in the Slingerland Method, a variation of the Orton-Gillingham Method, which offers a comprehensive, multisensory approach to literacy instruction.

She has worked as a Learning Specialist at The Spence School, North Shore Hebrew Academy, Solomon Schecter of Nassau County, and St. Luke's School (Manhattan) supporting students with a variety of language-based and executive function challenges.  Additionally, she supports students and their parents through the neuropsychological evaluation process

Fun Fact: Lara loves word games, especially crosswords, and Wordle.
