Leah Robbins

Bio & Expertise: After working with kids in a variety of capacities during my high school years I decided to attend SUNY Geneseo because of its strong education program. I graduated in 2008 with a degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education; I began teaching after that and received a masters degree in Education from Stony Brook University.  After working as a public school classroom teacher for about 10 years I left the classroom to pursue a job as a Mathematics Coach. Before coaching as my primary role I worked with student teachers and mentored new teachers. I like the idea of collaborating with others to discuss ways to bring the classroom alive and help students feel confident in math. While I was teaching I was growing a tutoring business (Robbins Ready Learning) and decided that I was ready to take it full time by January of 2020. Since then I have been working with students of varying levels of ability to support their academic and overall growth as a student. I believe in building strong relationships with the families that I work with and having an open line of communication between parents and tutors. I look forward to growing Robbins Ready Learning and showing families how powerful personalized education can be.
